aneW's #WCW

Updated: Mar 30, 2020

I decided to do something different. I wanted to shout out women that I kind of looked up to. Women that are legends, women that work just as hard if not harder than I do daily. Women who are succeeding in their hustle and I just want to make sure that they get the accolades for the things that they’re doing daily to build their own brand! So being that it is Women’s History Month (March 2020), what better time to give these women their accolades. Check out these female entrepreneurs.

Dedication

@heaven

My angel, my mother was a woman before her time. My mother passed away almost 20 years ago while I was in my senior year of college. I can't say life has been easy without having her here to share with me in all the things I make #aneW. I have a number of gifts from her. My mother was the Queen of DIY! She was also a designer and a seamstress. (Yes, I can sew a little, she made us all learn- even my brothers!) My father worked a lot and so my mom had to be the #bosschic of the house. Though she had a nursing degree, she became a housewife. She hated not having her own money, so she began to sew for other people. Just about everything she made was custom. Your design, your thoughts, made just for you. My siblings and I grew up helping her at every church event and wedding that she decorated for or made the bridal party dresses. She was AMAZING. Her legacy is what I build mine on. Through aneW and with God's guidance, it is my goal to help people from every avenue. These gifts from God are only gifts when we share them with others. Make your dreams come true. Make it great. Make it aneW.

Kiara Harris

@kiaraharrisphotography

Art has always been part of my life. From musical arts to visual arts. Whatever allowed me to be creative in my own way I wanted to be part of it. Starting my business in late 2016 was a brand new feeling for me. I knew I wanted to capture images in a more story driven way after working for a photography studio in the mall during college. I wanted to capture the essence of beauty through the eyes of my clients. Essentially capturing their lifestyle, their story and beauty just the way they are. So, I started calling myself the sincere storyteller. I take my passion seriously and I absolutely love love love the beauty of imagery through photography. Such a timeless gift.

Love is what motivates you to achieve what you want. It doesn't matter where you are or what career you have. If you love your work, you will do it even in a distant land or in front of a different culture. I spent 21 years working in a country where Wedding is an industry that moves billions annually. Every Wedding has to be big, no excuses, so you have to be ready for that. But for seven years working in the USA, I see that Weddings can range from simple ceremonies to grand events, and you have to be adapted to that too. In all cases the summary is: when you love what you do, you will do it with excellence! It can be from the simple to the most sophisticated project. My love for my work drives me to always exceed my limits in order to surprise my clients' expectations. If you love your job, the same will happen!
